Sabyasachi Dutta

Sabyasachi Dutta is the co-founder and Executive Director of Asian Confluence, a premium Indian Think Tank. Sabyasachi pioneered the “Third Space” philosophy of the Asian Confluence whereby through a host of programs, the Asian Confluence as a premier “think and do” tank located in India’s Northeastern region, provides an opportunity for civil society to enhance people to people contact between India and her neighbours and also encourage a better understanding of the cultural and socio-political issues of the region that actually are the driving force behind policies such as India’s “Act East Policy” and “Neighbourhood First” policy. He regularly speaks at several prestigious fora and under his leadership, the Asian Confluence curates several research and track 1.5 and track 2 initiatives such as the India Japan Intellectual Conclave, The NADI (Natural Allies in Development and Interdependence) – River dialogues in the Bay of Bengal region and the India Thailand Young entrepreneurs exchange program in partnership with the Governments of India and other countries. As a student of geo-politics, his research interests span regional cooperation in the Himalayan and Eastern South Asian region around governance, connectivity, natural resource management, culture, trade and tourism. He holds a strong interest in water resource management issues and the “water-energy-food” nexus for sustainable development of rural areas in Eastern South Asia and is a core author of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)’s Civil Society Organisations (CSO) vision document for regional cooperation in the Ganga Brahmaputra Meghna (GBM) region. Sabyasachi is a lover of spirituality and a long time practitioner of meditation.
