Mustafa joined the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1992 following his studies in international relations at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. He has a master’s degree in European politics at the College of Europe in Bruges. As a career diplomat, he served at the Turkish missions in Italy, Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Austria, Afghanistan, Belgium, and finally in Bangladesh as Ambassador. He decided to retire in April 2023. Currently, he is serving as the Foreign Relations Advisor to the Mayor of Istanbul.
