Asif A. Chowdhury is a distinguished business leader, diplomat, and trade advocate with more than 35 years of experience spanning international diplomacy, bilateral trade, business development, logistics, and corporate leadership. He currently serves as Vice President of the World Federation of Consuls (FICAC), Honorary Consul for Chile in Bangladesh, and Managing Director of Chowdhury Group.
Throughout his career, Mr. Chowdhury has played an active role in strengthening international relations, promoting cross-border trade, and fostering cooperation between Bangladesh and global business communities. His leadership experience includes senior roles with Century Distribution Systems (BD) Ltd., Neo Zipper Co. Ltd., Chowdhury Securities Ltd., Crown Navigation Company Ltd., Bay Consolidation (Pvt.) Ltd., and Ocean Network Express (Bangladesh) Ltd.
He has also held prominent institutional positions, including Chairman of the English Speaking Union–Bangladesh, President of the Consular Corps in Bangladesh, President of the Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce & Industry, President of the Japan Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and Director of both the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Bangladesh Freight Forwarders Association. His contributions to diplomacy and international cooperation have earned him numerous distinctions, including Chile’s Bernardo O’Higgins Award, the GUSI Peace Prize, the Global Order of Dignitaries, Brazil’s Consular Merit of Order Award, Chile’s Consular Merit Award, and the FICAC Medal of Honor.
Mr. Chowdhury holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Faulkner University, Alabama, USA. His expertise encompasses bilateral trade negotiations, international markets, foreign government relations, project management, business process improvement, and organizational leadership.
