The fifth edition of the Bay of Bengal Conversation will be held in October 3-5 at a Dhaka city hotel, bringing together around 1,000 participants from over 100 countries.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to open the conference to be organised by non-government think tank Centre for Governance Studies, according to a CGS press release issued on Saturday.
The prime minister will deliver the inaugural address while policymakers, diplomats, security experts, business leaders, academics, journalists, civil society representatives and emerging global leaders will attend the event.
Under the theme ‘Fragments ∙ Frontiers ∙ Futures: Navigating Power, Technology and Trust in a World Rewritten,’ the three-day international forum will focus on major global transformations, including geopolitical competition, technological disruption, economic realignment, climate challenges and evolving governance frameworks.
The conference will be structured around five flagship pillars: Power in Transition; The Technology Frontier; The New Economic Geography; Climate, Resilience and Human Security; and Trust, Democracy and the Future of Governance.
Organisers said around 200 speakers are expected to participate in high-level plenaries, leadership forums, strategic dialogues, fireside conversations and a dedicated Young Leaders Forum.
